Program areas at African Hospitality Institute

African Hospitality Institute offers a 2-year immersive English speaking hands-on hospitality vocational program with intensive discipleship training. AHI has a 100% Ugandan Staff of 12 who train and manage the day-to-day- operations of our work. AHI accepts 11 applicants a year having nearly 20 students each year. The first year those students remain on site caring for international volunteer teams to learn the practical skills of cooking cleaning and serving in the hospitality tourist industry having classes in English as a Second Language Character Development and landscaping skills. The 2nd-year students qualify for internship opportunities at Safari Lodges throughout Uganda to learn real-life work experience. We have a nearly 100% success rate of graduates finding and keeping jobs for the long-term.
By partnering with other non-profits and organizations in America AHI is also a unique destination for volunteer teams and visitors of up to 22 people to stay at our 10-room private guesthouse while working in the surrounding villages living in abject poverty as well as primary high school and college preparatory schools on site. Students gain experience caring for these visitors who come throughout the year from all over America. Our volunteers are exposed to extreme poverty and work alongside villagers to help without harm offering their skills and talents to introduce ways to improve their lives through better sanitation education construction borehole repairs and forming long lasting friendships that change both the Ugandans and Americans for the better.
