The organization was formed to provide funding from donors in the USA to programs managed and impliemented by Afrika Tikkun south africa, a separate entity operating as a chartered non-governmental organization in south africa. Afrika Tikkun south africa provides an integrated range of programs and services in severely disadvantaged communities. These programs focus on enabling hiv-positive, child-headed households, orphans, and other vulnerable youth from "cradle to career", and include food security , health services, education, life skills, job training, and job placement.
