Management development programs - the Afsa Education Foundation leadership development program was held near the university of north carolina in chapel hill with 39 participants from 13 Afsa member companies. Sessions focused on managing & leading strategy, leadership & management self-awareness, inclusive leadership, ethical leadership, team building, negotiations, leading & managing change, & industry updates. The edge (Education, development, growth, & enrichment) program was held at mercer university in atlanta with 88 participants from 13 Afsa member companies. The industry's top executives & subject matter experts taught 20 different sessions with topics ranging from time management to leadership. A culminating activity included c-suite panelists sharing their paths to success.
Moneyskill - an online personal finance course with 37 modules in english & spanish, educates students on the money-management fundamentals & is available to educators at no cost. The curriculum includes content areas of income, expenses, savings & investment, credit & insurance, & more. The curriculum is designed to be part of a personal finance course for middle school, high school, college, & beyond. Afsa Education Foundation conducted outreach with engagement, promotion, & teacher training at 17 conferences & through social media & digital campaigns reached over 4.6 million impressions resulting in a 44% increase in new instructors. An impact evaluation highlighted 90% of students see improvements in financial knowledge & a gain of 65% when comparing pre & post- tests.
