Program areas at AFA
AID FOR AIDS International (AFA) distributed over 5,700 bottles of antiretroviral (ARV) and prophylactic medications to more than 2,700 individuals across 23 low- and middle- income countries. AFA collected over $6.2 million in ARV medicines and redistributed over $5.8 million worth of these life-saving treatments. With offices in Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Panama, the Dominican Republic, the United States, and Canada, AFA played a vital role in global HIV prevention and education efforts. More than 64,000 people in Latin America and the Caribbean benefited from AFAs HIV and STI prevention programs, which included educational sessions, the distribution of basic prevention kits, and testing services. The organization also provided critical support in accessing medical care, linked individuals to antiretroviral treatment, and offered food assistance and migration support to people with HIV.
