Program areas at Air and Waste Management Association
Publication - monthly peer-review technical journal (ja&wma) and monthly member magazine (em) magazine are sent to approximately 4,000 members and subscribers. They include information related to environmental issues of interest to members and the general public.
Membership development - the membership development marketing and operations effort includes using a combination of communication tools, such as direct mail opportunities, telemarketing, monthly e-mail blast, and online tools, to achieve the proposed membership objectives. We utilize the existing Association Management system, as well as targeted outside prospect lists when applicable, to tailor messages and build benefit packages. Communications target them for each of the four key membership categories (individual, young professional, student, and organizational).
Conferences and events - educational workshops, webinars, courses, specialty conferences, and the annual conference and exhibition are designed to promote technology transfer and environmental awareness for members and the general public. Content from our webinars is available for those unable to attend, through on-line marketplace.
Councils - the organization supports four councils which include education, sections & chapters, technical, and young professionals advisory. Each council conducts business to support the vision and mission of the organization through education, publications, networking, volunteer development, local membership and programming, and information exchange.
Scholarship awards - scholarships awarded to graduate students. Recipients can be u.s. or non-u.s. members or non-members. All scholarships are paid to the university/college.
