Program areas at Alabama Humanities Alliance
Regrants - the regrants program is a series of grants made by the Alliance to other non-profit organizations to fund public Humanities programs, including learning opportunities, public forums, documentary films, and other projects that offer opportunities for education, impactful storytelling, and the coming together of communities.
Alabama history day - Alabama history day (ahd) fosters interdisciplinary academic programs focused on historical research, interpretation and creative expression for 6th to 12th grade students. By participating in ahd, students become writers, filmmakers, web designers, playwrights and artists as they create unique contemporary expressions of history. The experience culminates in a series of contests at the local level which progress to our state competition, traditionally held between mid-march and mid-april. Select students advance to compete in the national history day competition in june.
School and university partners for educational renewal (super) - the super program consists of a series of residential seminars over the summer and workshops during the school year to provide teachers with content information and a network of scholars to enhance their teaching. Super aims to increase participants' subject knowledge and, in turn, their confidence, enthusiasm, and effectiveness as educators.
