Attended federal and state management meetings, various trade association meetings, as well as other industry meetings. Organized and led board meetings and created appropriate association committees regarding specific topics of interest for the Board of Directors and Membership. During the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023 the Association continued its advocacy efforts in Washington DC focusing on Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act reauthorization: Country of Origin (COOL) labeling; crab rationalization program buyback loan refinancing; illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) crab; and fishery disaster requests and process improvements.
