Alaska Forum promotes a clean and healthy environment through communication and education. The Green Star Communities program supports AK communities that want to practice waste reduction, energy conservation, and pollution prevention. Green Star Community Standards recognition is given to the communities that meet these requirements. The Alaska Forum on the Environment gathers environmental professionals from government agencies, non-profit, and for-profit businesses, community leaders, Alaskan Youth, conservationists, biologists.

Alaska Forum on the Environment: The Alaska Forum on the Environment is a statewide gathering of environmental professionals from government agencies non-profit and for-profit businesses community leaders Alaskan Youth conservationists biologists and community elders. The event is an educational foundation for all Alaskans and a unique opportunity to interact with others on environmental issues and challenges. AFE 2023 took place in-person and virtually during the week of February 6-10 2023.
Green Star Communities Program. The Alaska Forum sponsors the Green Star Communities certification program designed for rural Alaskan communities to assess and improve their waste reduction and energy efficiency programs. The Green Star Communities program supports Alaska communities that want to practice waste reduction energy conservation and pollution prevention. Communities that meet the Green Star Community Standards are recognized for their accomplishments. Sustainable solutions are realized by approaching waste and resource management with an integrated community-focused approach and the Green Star Award provides affirmative public recognition for achievements.
Environmental Technician Apprenticeship Program: The Alaska Forum is the registered sponsor of the Environmental Technician Apprenticeship Program by the US Department of Labor. An Environmental Tehcnician Apprentice will receive specific classroom instruction and work 4,000 hours of on-the-job training to develop skills as a proficient and versatile worker.
