Program areas at Albertina Kerr Centers
Adults with developmental disabilities:twenty-nine neighborhood-based homes offered 24-hour support and individual growth and self-sustainability opportunities during fiscal year 2023. Kerr provided services to 98 adults (18 years old and over) with intellectual and developmental disabilities.kerr supported 158 people in programs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities that give them the opportunity to participate in the workforce, join in community activities and pursue interests that enrich their lives, leading to increased employment, independence and community engagement.
Youth and family services:a wide range of services for children with mental health challenges and intellectual and development disabilities as well as support for their families. Diagnosis, intensive intervention and treatment for children ages three to 17. Many of these children are struggling to function at home, at school or in the community. Kerr provides specialized treatment and skills training geared toward stabilizing children and their families and creating new potential for a healthy, productive life for each child. Programs include crisis psychiatric care and community-based mental health services. Kerr provided services for 360 children and support for their families. We measure success by stabilizing children, providing effective mental health treatment, and ultimately assisting children and families to function in their homes, schools, and communities.
Youth group homes:eighteen group homes operated during the fiscal year where 64 youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities were provided 24-hour support and life skills training in a safe and secure setting. We adopt a multi-disciplinary approach to care, and ensure that the unique and individualized needs of the people we serve, are consistently supported.
