Program areas at Allen County Historical Society
MacDonell House Exhibit - The MacDonell House, an 1893 Victorian, is maintained to show the daily lifestyle during the Victorian Era and the Industrial Revolution as it was experienced in Lima.
Education - The museums education department provides free or low cost services to schools, students, children, families and adults through onsite tours, school outreach through the museums traveling trunks program, and various educational programs designed to support the museums mission, local history and exhibitions.
Collections and Exhibitions - History, mainly of Allen County and Ohio, is depicted through the collections that are maintained, exhibited and demonstrated. Visitors come to the museum to view the exhibits, do genealogical research, and attend programs & events. The Allen County Reporter which is devoted to scholarly articles about local history topics is also created and published.
