Allen Place senior center programs a.allen Place blast into fitness program is a multi-component health and wellness program specifically designed for adults wherein our goal is to inspire participants to lead a healthier lifestyle and better their communities by making healthier choices with regards to their physical activity, nutrition and overall life balance. The program is fun and interactive to encourage focused weekly action workout sessions of low impact exercise, boot camp or phone conferencing fitness modules. B.allen Place faithful families project encourages the faith-based Community to join us in addressing the critical need for food access and resources identified by seniors in the center prior to and during covid-19 pandemic. Weekly distribution of produce, fruit and meat with occasional dry food items to households in eight zip codes. Working with Community partnerships and sponsors for the partnership reaching the organization mission (prom) we provide awards of encouragement to selection of program volunteers annually with a formal dinner and service plaques. C.racial equity approaches to Community health in collaboration with kappa chapter, Inc. of chi eta phi nursing sorority for programs and projects. Allen Place has the diabetes and hypertension support group offering education and resources to Community members. Offering technical assistance for telemedicine and use of free medical apps for senior population. The programs offer strategies that aim to improve health outcomes related to chronic disease conditions by addressing the social determinants of health. D.inspiration and spirituality programs offering bible study weekly and volunteers making weekly phone calls to senior participants for activity and nutritional tracking as we connected to one another to interrelate challenges, triumphs and accountability.
