Program areas at Allfed Institute
Researching food solutions resilient to global catastrophic risks (gcrs) and distribution needs during different catastrophic events. Allfed Institute produced six peer-reviewed publications, shared research with the global academic community, and delivered several presentations at events and conferences. Alongside research on resilient food solutions (leaf protein concentrate, agricultural residues in africa, nuclear winter impacts, and seaweed potential during sunlight reduction), Allfed also explored infrastructure collapse scenarios, crop yield loss modeling and supply chain interventions.
Raising awareness of resilience to gcrs through media engagement, conferences, workshops, and educational content shared via Allfed's website and social media. In 2023, Allfed's work was featured in numerous international media outlets.
Allfed provided policy advice to help governments create tailored plans for their specific contexts in the event of global food supply disruptions, dedicating significant resources into policy engagement, delivering knowledge products and proposals to various governments. In 2023, Allfed notably worked with argentina, australia, and the usa on preparedness and response proposals to build resilient food systems. They also briefed several nato governments and un agencies to support global preparedness efforts.
