Program areas at Alliance for a Green Economy

Our main programmatic work focuses on public education and engagement around NY energy policies, regulations, planning processes and rate cases. Through this work, submitted expert testimony in multiple utility rate cases, and we reached over 200 organizations and thousands of individuals with critical information about upcoming plans and regulatory decisions that impact clean energy development and access. We provided organizations and individuals guidance and tools to submit comments and otherwise engage in public process related to these decisions.
Our program EnergySmart CNY , in which we partner with several other local organizations, educates and connects renters, home and building owners with the many programs available to help reduce the costs of energy efficiency upgradeslike insulation, air sealing, efficient electric heat pumps, and solar. During 2023, the program reached several thousand individuals through events throughout the region of Central New York. In followup outreach, our team worked with over 600 households on a one-on-one basis to connect them with state and federal programs that could help them reduce their energy use, reduce their energy bills, and/or reduce their environmental impact.
