Healthy schools, families and communities: advancing whole child health equity: Healthier Generation's whole child health equity focus is among the nation's largest evidenced-based whole child health programs in school settings addressing multiple factors that lead to better health and life outcomes from nutrition and physical activity to social emotional health and addiction. Healthier Generation's intentionality in supporting schools and especially in under-served communities to implement health-promoting policies and practices leads to more equitable improvements in whole child health. Continued on schedule o.targeted hands-on support is offered at the community level, combined with ongoing technical assistance and professional development offered through A variety of delivery methods and culminating in A powerful digital platform. To date, the organization has reached more than 54,000 schools and sites (69% of which are title i) serving more than 31 million students in all 50 states, the district of columbia and puerto rico. Increasing family engagement: Healthier Generation is helping families prioritize healthy living and create home environments where everyone can thrive. Educators, parents and caregivers are supported by A full suite of simple, easy-to-use resources in english and spanish to help families eat Healthier, move more and build social-emotional skills together. Healthier Generation's healthy at home initiative features A digital hub of proven tips, activities, and resources designed for parents and caregivers so the healthy choice is the easiest choice for families. To date, our family engagement work has reached over 7.2 million families helping them to prioritize A Healthier lifestyle as they navigated new routines along with shifting work and learning environments.the walking classroom: the walking classroom is Healthier Generation's award-winning, evidence-based curriculum education program that supports students' health and learning. The program is simple: students take A brisk walk while listening to standards-aligned, educational podcasts that are supported by lesson plans, comprehension quizzes, and supplemental activities on A pre-loaded mobile audio device and app. The walking classroom offers A school year's worth of podcasts on english language arts, social studies, and science. The program increases physical activity, engages different learning styles, addresses learning loss, supports social-emotional learning, and builds health literacy.
Business sector engagement: when it comes to ensuring that all children and families have the chance to live Healthier lives, Healthier Generation believes that everyone has A role to play. Healthier Generation drives strategic collaboration with the education, corporate, public and non-profit sectors at the national and local levels. Healthier Generation leverages expertise in cross-sector collaborations to drive bold change to dismantle entrenched barriers to public health such as availability, accessibility, and affordability of Healthier options, with A focus on promoting health equity.
