Program areas at Alliance for Better Long Term Care

In accordance with, and subject to, the laws and regulations r.i.g.l. 42-66.7-1-17 and in accordance with the older americans act of 1965, title vii, chapter 2- ombudsman programs: 1) advocate on behalf of Long Term Care facility residents, home and hospice Care recipients; 2) identify, investigate, and resolve complaints that (a) are filed by residents or recipients of services as outlined above or by individuals acting on their behalf, and (b) relate to action, inaction, or decisions by (i) providers, or representatives of providers, of long-term Care services, (ii) public agencies, or (iii) health and social service agencies that may adversely affect the health, safety, welfare, rights, or quality of life of residents of Long Term Care facilities, or recipients of home or hospice Care (including the welfare and rights of the residents with respect to the appointment and activities of guardians and representative payees) and health Care and financial powers of attorney; and 3) perform such other duties as shall be required by the laws and regulations.
