Alliance for Flushing Meadows Corona Park Corporation

Prior to this year, the Alliance operated under a fiscal sponsorship agreement with city parks foundation. In april 2023, the Alliance received remaining funds held by this fiscal sponsor, and began operating as a separate organization. Accordingly, the financial information reflected in this return does not include activity for the portion of the year that was conducted under the fiscal sponsor.during the year ended june 30, 2023, the Alliance created the conservation corps, a new workforce development program that employs local teenagers and trains them with valuable horticultural skills. The Alliance also funds seasonal maintenance staff for the upkeep of the park.the Alliance doubled the fees for each artist to a total of $5,000 each for the two winning proposals for art in the parks. The Alliance also funded other cultural events programming in the Park such as salsa concerts, the silent disco, and more.the Alliance also expanded the earth day program to a full week of volunteer opportunities and partnered with local companies like delta and nycfc to engage their employees in natural areas stewardship.
