Program areas at Alliance for Historic Wyoming

Our three part-time employees, !n coordination with our Board of Directors and volunteers, make our programming possible and our our largest expense $25,494 15 listed here 1s for the three key employees, but does not include the payroll abilities associated with the 20-hour per week executive director, 10-hour per week preservation programs assistant, and hourly historic preservation specia list These salaries are paid largely from unrestricted funds (comprised mainly of contributions), with some hours covered by grants and foundations dedicated to specific programs |n coordination with the Board and volunteers, staff assist with fundraising camp aigns, public outreach events and communication, event coordination, grant management, and program execution
Through a Cooperative Service Agreement with the National Park Service, the Alliance for Historic Wyoming employs an architectural historian and a historic buildings specialist at Grand Teton National Park These employees help with a variety of progr ams in the Park, including the Western Center for Historic Preservation at the White Grass Dude Ranch The salaries and associated Payroll expenses are one of our largest functional expenses We view this Cooperative Service Agreement as a public benefit becaus Grand Teton National Park contains natural and historic resources that are an important part of Wyoming's historic fabric, and because the architectural historian and historic buildings specialist both help us to raise awareness of the care these facilities need This agreement has strengthened our tres with the National Park Service as well as local preservation advocates We are active in commenting on issues within the Park and Teton County We do receive overhead on this program which helps us to cover operation expenses and the time our staff spends managing this Program
The Historic Architecture Assistance Fund connects historic building owners to preservation architects to help property owners develop rehabilitation plans that best respect the historic structures This program 1s managed by the Alliance for Historic Wyoming partnership with the Wyoming Business Counci!-Wyoming Main Street and the Wyoming State Historic Preservation Office tis made possible by generous support from the Wyoming Cultural Trust Fund In 2016, we received a grant for $40,000 to promote this program and are paying out the last of the contracts this year These money encourages historic preservation projects inthe State, and promotes our mission to protect historic places and spaces It 1s an educational tool, let's us promote outreach activities and us to potential members and people in need of additional services
