Program areas at Alliance for Justice
Bolder advocacy guides provides resources including training, technical assistance, public webinars, and resources on best practices related to both 501(c)3 and 501(c)4 advocacy. The webinars and in-person trainings focus on c3 lobbying rules, voter registration, ballot measures, working in coalition, affiliated c3/c4/pac organizations, and campaign finance laws at the federal and state level. Bolder advocacy prioritizes supporting state and local organizations, as well as those with black, indigenous, and other people of color (bipoc) leaders.
Afj's outreach & membership program supports an Alliance of 125 member organizations across the progressive movement, organized into cohorts by advocacy area: reproductive health and gender Justice; criminal Justice reform; environmental and climate; racial Justice and civil rights; lgbtqia+ rights; democracy and voting; health and disability rights; and labor and economic Justice. These cohorts help organizations align their own work and strategies, strengthen bonds between members and afj, and deepen afj's overall impact and advance our strategic priorities.
Afj's Justice program encompasses our work on federal judicial nominations, the state court Justice project, building the bench (identifying and training diverse potential judges for federal appointments, and increasingly, state judgeships), and advocating for ethics reform, transparency, and accountability for the judiciary.
