Program areas at Alpine Achievers Initiative
Out of school-academic and social/emotional learning program - aai supports families and youth by placing 40 full-time americorps members in school districts and youth serving organizations throughout the region. These members provide academic interventions, behavioral interventions, classroom support and social emotional support to slv and ark valley youth. This is in partnership with 17 local school districts, 8 out of school time programs and 2 early childhood education centers.
Homeschool program - the valley to valley homeschool program, in collaboration with the mountain valley school district, delivers social and extracurricular opportunities to homeschool students in the san luis valley, Arkansas valley, and park county areas. Our offerings include weekly programs and engaging field trips, providing enriching experiences throughout the school calendar year focused on five main areas: arts, adventure, nature, movement, and socialization.
Equity and dei initiatives - Alpine Achievers Initiative is deeply invested in supporting equity initiatives in the communities where we serve. This includes engaging in staff equity learning labs to ensure our staff are continually learning, supporting other organizations that work on equity initiatives and providing active allyship trainings to community members and educators.
Backcountry program - b2b Alpine adventurers offers a transformative 10-month program tailored for youths aged 12 to 15 within the san luis valley. By fostering connections among peers and supportive adults, the program aims to cultivate enduring relationships and a profound sense of belonging in natural environments. The program's significance lies in providing access to a spectrum of outdoor adventures, environmental conservation initiatives, educational opportunities, cultural experiences, social interactions, and ongoing mentorship.
