Alternatives To Violence Project New York is a grassroots volunteer organization that strives to reduce interpersonal violence in our society. The mission of the organization includes offering experiential workshops that teach conflict transformation skills and empower people to lead non-violent lives. In 2022, the organization conducted 75 full workshops, with 65 of them being held inside NYS prisons and attracting 775 participants. Additionally, they trained 47 new apprentice facilitators inside NYS prisons and held 11 full workshops in community settings with 76 participants.
