Program areas at American Academy of Pediatrics District of Columbia Chapter
Bainum Birth to Three Policy Alliance: Through an annual grant from the Bainum Family Foundation, DC AAP participates in the Under 3 DC Coalition and a number of iniatives aimed at improving the health of DC children and families. The grant also provides educational opportunities for pediatric providers through Spring and Fall Symposia, as well as community events, such as COVID-19 town halls.
AAP Programs - AAP Food Insecurity: The chapter completed its second year of Building Pediatrician Capacity in Food Insecurity with the launch of a pilot program for electronic referrals to the DC Government's Women, Infants and Children program.
Immunization Program - The IPG Vaccination Confidence grant was provided by the national AAP organization to build confidence in COVID-19 vaccinations and dispel myths and misperceptions about the new vaccines.
All other programs - AAP Project Firstline, AAP Social Media Grant, Disaster Preparedness Grant, DOEE FY 2022 Lead Grant, and Domestic Violence.
