Program areas at American Battle Monuments Foundation

Commemorative events 87 commemorative events at abmc sites, such as honoring fallen aviators at ww i lafayette escadrille memorial, liberation concert at margraten, netherlands, 26 memorial day ceremonies, 27 veterans day ceremonies, and 33 other significant commemorations.
Military & veterans outreach through 30 personal meetings at u.s. military bases, facilities, military museums and vsos, the director of military & veterans outreach recruited 1,643 individuals to "join" abmf with a double opt-in contact permission. From among this group and other interested persons, we are growing an abmf volunteer corps to visit middle and high schools to promote the essay contest, among other messages about abmc and abmf.
Past is prologue essay contest: 10,348 teachers and adult mentors and judges engaged with the contest, and 191 students submitted essays from 30 states and nine countries. First, second and third-place winners from three age cohorts, 11-12 years, 13-15 years, and 16-18 years wrote essays about one of two topics: ww ii operation husky and the liberation of italy, or, dutch life under nazi occupation and the cost of liberation. Additionally, students reflected on two mandatory questions: "what can we learn now from the events then? And, "how is it relevant to your life today and in your future?" Prize money ranged from $1,500 to $10,000.
Abmf ambassadors series briefings and ambf scholars series conversations: with an average attendance of 40 online participants, these candid discussions provide insights with subject matter experts and allow invitees to ask questions of the featured speakers. Abmf international council: five retired flag officers volunteered to promote the work of abmf to their network of individuals and companies.abmf corporate partners: fedex, boeing, ducommun fndn, capgemini, troutman pepper and airbus have joined abmf as corporate partners at various levels ranging from $25k to $100k. Each receives significant recognition as well as opportunities for employees and clients to participate in abmf programs and events.
