American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS)

A. In march of 2023, the primary exam was taken by 638 examinees for self-assessment and 249 examinees for credit. The pass rate for those who took it for credit was 97%.b. The abns oral examination is given twice a year; spring and fall. The 2023 spring administration had a pass rate of 84.6%. The 2023 fall administration had a pass rate of 83.6%. C. there are currently 6,317 active diplomates. D. in 2023, 21 individuals lost Board certification. E. we are actively tracking more than 1,600 residents enrolled in an acgme accredited neurosurgery program.f. In 2021, the abns required all new graduates to begin participating in continuous certification.
