Program areas at American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
The abpmr supports and serves the physicians who have gained or are working to achieve Board certification in pm&r. This starts by ensuring high-quality residency training and culminates in a rigorous and reliable two-part examination to achieve Board certification. Once certified, a physician is called a diplomate of the abpmr.the abpmr's work continues throughout a physiatrist's career with our maintenance of certification (moc) program, which provides a framework and tools for maintaining medical knowledge and skills, as well as tracking continuous improvement over time. The American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (abpmr) offers certification examinations. The three largest program services offered by the abpmr are the part i, and part ii examinations. The number of persons to benefit from the exams for 2022 are as follows:part i - 519part ii - 494
The continuing certification program, including longitudinal assessment, cme, quality improvement, and professionalism had 9,500 participants in 2022.
In addition to offering primary certification in pm&r, the abpmr also offers subspecialty certification in: combined subspecialty exams benefited 669 persons in 2022.
