Pre-Doctoral Fellowship: To encourage outstanding pre-doctoral students, who have completed at least three semesters of graduate study and have not more than three and a half years remaining, to continue their studies and earn the Ph.D. in the pharmaceutical sciences at a U.S. school or college of pharmacy. Applications are encouraged from students with the following majors: Clinical Pharmaceutical Science, Medicinal/Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacoeconomics & Health Outcomes Research, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacokinetics/Metabolism, Pharmacology/Toxicology, Pharmacotherapy & Experimental Therapeutics, Social & Administrative, Pharmacogenomics/Informatics and Biomedical/Neural. Other Awards: AACP Social and Administrative Sciences (SAS) Section Summer Research Exchange Mentorship Program: The SAS Research Exchange Mentorship Program is intended to foster interest in research and SAS-related graduate education among student pharmacists. The program is open to P1-P3 students, who complete a research experience with a SAS faculty member outside their home institution, building their professional network and skills for residency, fellowship, and further graduate studies.See Schedule O for continuation.
AFPE Gateway to Research Awards: The purpose of the AFPE Gateway Research Scholarship is to provide pre-professional degree pharmacy students or baccalaureate degree students a scholarship supporting their participation in a faculty-mentored research project. The program teaches students to learn to identify relevant research problems; generate a research hypothesis; analyze data, how to interpret and use research results in practice; learn to effectively communicate the research and clinical data to medical professionals, patients, caregivers and peers; develop problem solving skills; sharpen critical thinking skills; understand regulatory and ethical principles that impact the research; and work as part of a team.
