Program areas at American Friends of Tel Aviv University

Research in many different areas including parkinson's, alzheimers's, and cancer. Faculty recruitment fosters understanding and opens new lines of communication and dialogue.
Scientific research and computer science: aftau receives designated support for top tier scientific research being performed at tau. Research in cancer, alzheimers, parkinson's, als, orphan diseases, drug discovery, and world food supply issues. Additionally, cutting edge research in nanoscience, bio-cybernetics, cyber security and research, alternative energy and other next generation technologies are also being pursued.
Scholarships, fellowships, construction monies and general donation for higher education: have enabled thousands of students to study at tau. Directed gifts in support of specific faculties at tau allowed the University to maintain its high standards. Dedicated gifts funded the construction of new and/or updated dental school facilities, presidential scholarships, yiddish language studies, general scholarships, the business school, faculty recruitment, support of the institute for strategic studies, conflict resolution workshops, construction of new dorms to accomodate the growing student body, the minerva center of the humanities, student services and the construction of israel's first museum dedicated to housing israel's largest collection of natural history.
