Program areas at American Go Association
The us Go congress: the aga holds an annual eight day event called the us Go congress. Players from all over the us, north america, and around the world, come to a different location each summer, to play in tournaments, to study with and learn from top professionals and other teachers, to meet other people who play and join in Go community initiatives. Aside from providing an event enjoyable in itself, the Go congress is a venue for long term community bonding, volunteer recruitment, international links, and a venue to reward those successful in local tournament or online play around the country. In addition, local chapters that participate in running congress can receive financial support and grow their membership and volunteer base. Congress hosts the organization's annual meetings.
Nagf: the north American Go federation was founded by the American Go Association and the canadian Go Association to represent the north American Go community in international contexts, to establish and maintain professional promotions and ranking system, to organize professional qualification events, to organize north American championships, and to support Go promotional activities in north america.
