Program areas at American Indian Film Institute
The 46th Annual AIFI festival continued to present virtual/online creening of American and First Nations people films, Nov 5-134, 2021. A total of 126 films of which 41 were World premieres were viewed by a large audience. Through these films,AIFI continues to foster understanding and appreciation of the culture, traditions, and issues facing contemporary Native Americans.The Awards Show,which highlighted several Native Artists, was also held virtual.
The Tribal Touring Program, a 10-day intensive film training for youth living in reservations or Rancherias in California and Western United States, was reinstated last August 1-14, 2022, with the participation of the youth of the Tolowa-Dee-Ni' Nation, parents and a group of educators.
