AIME provides grants to encourage collaboration among the member SOCIETIES AND SUPPORT EFFORTS THAT CUT ACROSS ALL DISCIPLINES.
Aime has a unique position in the engineering and scientific the community; it is a liaison between its member societies and the relevant engineering and scientific community. Aime represents its member societies at joint functions and connect them to the communities, sharing best practices, and supporting other collaborative efforts to work jointly for the greater good of the profession and society as a whole.
AIME provides support to the Member Societies for their award of scholarships, as well as certain medals and awards, including honorary membership. MANY AWARDS CARRY THE NAMESAKE OF ICONS WITHIN THE AIME DISCIPLINES OF MINING, METALLURGICAL, AND PETROLEUM ENGINEERING, THE STEEL AND IRON INDUSTRY, AND MATERIALS SCIENCE. AIME ALSO PROVIDES THE MEMBER SOCIETIES THE ANNUAL INCOME FROM ENDOWMENT FUNDS TO SUPPORT SPECIFIC PROGRAMS SUCH AS DISTINGUISHED LECTURERS, STUDENTS, YOUNG PROFESSIONALS, AND THE TECHNICAL LIBRARIES.
