Packages to troops in harms way:since the program was initiated, Post 201 has sent over 11000 packages to troops serving in iraq & afganistan & other areas thru the end of the fiscal year.

Veterans club & social activities:american Legion Post 201 has many other program services which it operates. One of the most important is that it serves as a club & meeting place for veterans & their friends & relatives. Post 201 has many functions for veterans & also for the general public, including the clubroom,weekly dances, bingo sessions & many other functions which are too numerous to list here. American Legion Post 201 is a military veterans home away from home. Post 201 has hosted old soldiers for 71 years. Currently the event is hosted on the first saturday in august.
Walk of memories:walk of memories is a garden area with walks & other nice features paved with special bricks bearing various information about service members killed in action as well as bricks donated by family members for veterans. To date over 8000 bricks have been installed.
Boys state:american Legion boys state is among the most respected & selective programs of government instruction for high school students. This program has been operated by national American Legion since 1935 & post201 operates similary to other American Legion posts across the country.
American Legion baseball program:american Legion Post 201 operates youth baseball teams. This program is operated all over the country by other American Legion posts & has furnished many major league baseball players. the national American Legion baseball programs for youth have operated since 1925. Post 201 has its own baseball field & operatres similar to other American Legion programs across the country.
Oratorical contests:the American Legion oratorical contest exists to develop a deeper knowledge & appreciation for the u.s. constitution among high school students. the 70+-year-old program presents participants with an academic speaking challenge that teaches important leadership qualities, the history of our hations laws, the ability to think & speak clearly, and an understanding of the duties, responsibilities, rights & priviledges of American citizenship. Each year, Post 201 selects 5 contestants to receive scholarship awards. the winners of the scholarship awards are selected from a list that have applied from local high schools.
Veterans assistance:post 201 provides veterans with assistance in the form of helping veterans & their family members file needed forms & other documents to obtain veterans benefits, and assistance in finding records for current veterans, deceased veterans & discharged veterans. Post 201 helps veteran families with appeals for denied & reduced benefits. Post 201 also helps veterans obtain medals & awards that have been granted, but not received. Additionally, Post 201 provides limited financial donations to veterans & veteran families when they need financial assistance.
