VENERAN SERVICES - Our Service Officer assists veterans with well care, VA hospital care, disability information and how to apply for same. Provide assistance to veterans for housing, clothing, and groceries. Provide assistance to the homeless veteran stand down and to veterans living at the West Town Apartments. Work with the American Legion Auxiliary by letting their organization use the Post for meetingsCHILDREN & YOUTH - Send boys to the American Legion Boy's State program, provide gifts to military families at Christmas, provide food and clothing to military families throughout the year. Assist with Easter, Holloween and Christmas parties at the Legion for children and their families. Work with Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA) by letting them use the Post for meetings.COMMUNITY SERVICE - Provide dinners on a monthly basis for veterans, their families, and the community. Maintain the Legion Post building so that veterans have a place to come in and socialize with each other. Provide flags at cemetaries for Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Take care of flag disposal for any member of the community. Purchase flags for the Post Memorial Display.
