American Meteorological Society advances the atmospheric and related sciences, technologies, applications, and services for the benefit of society. Publications - the Society publishes 11 peer-reviewed scientific journals consistently ranked near the top of their fields in impact factor, including the highly regarded bulletin of the American Meteorological Society (bams), as well as award-winning scientific and historical books and a long-standing series of Meteorological monographs.
Membership and communication - the Society has approximately 12,000 members, including students, teachers, scientists and other professionals, enthusiasts, and corporation and institutional members. It provides a wide range of services to members, including certifications for professionals and teachers, career information, and professional development programs that include webinars and podcasts.
Meetings and exhibits - the Society brings together atmospheric scientists, professionals, students, authors, educators, researchers and weather enthusiats from around the world to share and collaborate ideas about research through speciality conferences, short courses, and events, inclusive of the Society's annual meeting.
