Program areas at AMS

Annual conference: The ams annual conference is designed to provide opportunities for professional development and community building to The Montessori community. Over 4,000 teachers, administrators, and heads of schools attended The 2023 annual conference in march 2023. The annual conference offered over 150 workshops covering topics such as current Montessori research, using Montessori materials in teaching math, peace education, working with infants and toddlers, school leadership, cultural awareness, and other topics relevant to Montessori education. Conference speakers included jamil zaki, susan david, ibram x. kendi, and chris barton. The conference also provided networking and social events.
Teacher education: in fy 2023, ams had approximately 100 ams-affiliated teacher education programs. Ams issued about 1900 Montessori credentials to successful graduates of these ams-affiliated teacher education programs. We registered 2,200 new adult learners in fy 2023.
Membership: in fy 2023, ams served over 20,000 individual and school members. Ams encouraged high standards in its Montessori schools, provided access to member resources such as best practices, online professional development, an award-winning publication, and offered numerous opportunities for professional development.
