Program areas at American Osteopathic Academy of Addiction Medicine
In response to a public health priority regarding opiod misuse, the center for substance abuse treatment/substance abuse and mental health services administration has awarded a three year grant, physician clinical support system (pcss), the American Academy of Addiction psychiatry (aaap) is the lead collaborative organization in partnership with the American Osteopathic Academy of Addiction Medicine (aoaam), American psychiatric association (apa), and the American society of Addiction Medicine (asam).
Fall meeting enables members to learn about new developments in the field and to interact with other professionals.
In response to the nation's opiod crisis, samhsa awarded a two year grant to provide technical assistance (ta) to states and territories to the American Academy of Addiction psychiatry (aaap) with a coalition of 27 national professional organizations, forming the opiod response network. These ta activities are designed to enhance efforts already underway throughout the united states and territories. The opiod response network (orn)provides training and technical assistance via local experts across the country, focusing on appying evidence based practices in prevention, treatment and recovery to meet locally identified needs.
