Program areas at American Service Dog Access Foundation
Development and deployment of website, user portal, and database: 1) to educate the public, airline staff and other venue providers, and service dog users themselves about the US laws enabling and governing travel with a service animal, and 2) to deploy the Service Dog Pass credential, allowing service animal users to register their animals and air carriers to verify that the service animal is legitimate, behaves appropriate in public venues and is current on vaccinations.
Developed training programs for use with airline and hospitality industries to inform customer-facing staff in those industries regarding the rights of service dog users under the ACAA and ADA.
Creation of mobile app and physical ID card for validation of participation in the Service Dog Pass program, allowing service animal users to to avoid intrusive questioning and onerous paperwork while traveling.
