National Professional development conference adn workshops ASLTA holds work shops and a bi-annual converence to provide membership development for teachers of ASL and Deaf Studies

OTHER PROGRAMS OUTREACH Create and distribute educational materials for taching ASL and deaf studies to teachers and to educate the public and promote excellence in teaching. Affiliate Chapteres support affiliate chapters whose primary mission is to provide professional development oppourtunites for teachers of ASL and Deaf Studies. Community Outreach represented ASLTA members and mission at national conferences. Initiated electronic E-newsletter and E-Blasts social technologh and Facebook communication to improve communication with members, promotion of workshops and conferences and reduce costs

ASL Honors Society Assist ASL Teachers to establish student organizations in the school where they teach to encourage and recognize high academic achievement in ASL studies for hight school and college students. These Honor Societies give ASL language students the opportunity for leadership, to earn community service hours hold ASL Literature competitions, received competitive scholarships to students studying ASL in college, supplort ASL teachers to obtain equipment and materials to improve teaching, and recognized students with cords or medals for graduation ceremonies in their respoective schools.
