Annual conference - amsect hosts an annual conference for perfusionists and other professionals in related disciples to share knowledge, solve challenges, and educate members on new developments related to perfusion Technology and related fields, with topics including congenital technical skills, ethics and safety, standards and guidelines, blood management, program management, Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ecmo), and more.
Certification - amsect administers international board of blood management (ibbm) certification tests for perioperative blood management technologists (pdmt), patient blood management specialists (pbms), certified ecmo specialists - adult (ces-a), and certified emo specialists - pediatric (ces-p).
Publications - on a quarterly basis amsect publishes the journal of Extracorporeal Technology (ject), which is the premier source of the most current research and information related to Extracorporeal Technology including cardiopulmonary bypass, Extracorporeal life support, mechanical assist devices, and perioperative blood management. On a quarterly basis amsect also publishes amsect today as a portal of information providing amsect members with content comprised of in-depth and thought-provoking articles, information about upcoming events, educational offerings, student perspectives, challenging quizzes, Society elections and more.
Membership and other program services - as a professional membership Society of perfusionists dedicated to improving patient care and safety in the Extracorporeal circulation Technology community, amsect assesses membership dues. Amsect also hosts an online learning platform, a leadership symposium, and various webinars throughout the year.
