Payments to the ASHRAE foundation for the Rocky Mountain Endowment Fund These funds are used by the society to provide ongoing support for ASHRAE programs and initiatiives for future years. This fund is also used for national scholarships to students pursing education in HVAC.
Hosting of a technical conference to disseminate industry information and knowledge in design, technology, and strategies in HVAC operations by leaders in the industry. We offered 25 different presentations in five education tracks with two keynote presentations. The theme this year was Opportunities for a Clean Energy Economy with presentations on such topics as boiler efficiency, pumping fundamentals, opportunities for clean energy, and energy efficiency.
Payments for regional conferences for multiple chapters to gain industry knowledge. These conferences offer workshops, technical sessions, technical tours, addresses by ASHRAE members, and presentations of awards. RM ASHRAE is in Region IX which includes 12 other regions.
Monthly meetings, engineering study groups, and development of conferences to advance knowledge and technology within the industry. For example, a walkthrough was done of commissioning requirements based on code requirements (Denver and IECC) and LEED commissioning requirements. Slides will include information on what systems need to be commissioned, how commissioning fits into the project schedule and design/construction teams, and the benefits to projects and owners.
