Meetings: - thrive virtual event april 27 -featured presentations by joyel crawford, joanna lohman, kia young and pamela green. 886 virtual attendees.asa Staffing law conference 2023, may 18-19- the conference took a deeper dive into legal issues impacting the Staffing industry. Four hundred attendees, and exhibitors not only heard expertise from asa's legal team but gained exclusive access to critical information from the nation's top Staffing attorneys. Each day of Staffing law featured a super session which took a deeper dive into timely topics with more time for discussion. Twenty two presenters covered highly relevant topics such as best practices in hr, background checks and drug testing, pay transparency, pay equity, and emerging technologies.staffing world 2023 oct. 3-5- this in-person experience was designed to connect Staffing professionals and provide resources to grow their business. Over 1700 attendees and exhibitors participated.-keynoters included - oct. 3: mike krzyzewski, head men's basketball coach, duke university - oct. 4: paul zikopoulos, artificial intelligence expert and vice president of cognitive data systems at ibm - oct. 5: dominique dawes, us olympic gymnast and gold medalistthrive elevating & empowering women in Staffing live event oct 2-3- featured presentations by reshma saujani, henna pryor, and jaclyn gallo. There were over two hundred fifty attendees asa webinars- approximately 59 webinars presented in 2023 on a variety of topics of interest to Staffing, recruiting, and talent solutions companies- participants included 12,168 registrants and 7,431 live attendees.
Member services: - held monthly networking calls for 116 ceo's of various different sized firms to provide guidance challenges, opportunities, and business growth strategies- developed monthly networking call opportunity specifically for 628 small business owners to encourage networking, business development, and strategic planning. - represented asa at various industry conferences to promote the Association mission and member benefit offerings- managed six different member groups to assist with business improvements and growth strategies for firms doing business in the following sectors: engineering, it, and scientific; health care; office-administrative; industrial, professional-managerial; and direct-hire - managed women in leadership interest group designed to improve leadership development for women in Staffing across all career stages. Held networking events, webinars, and in-person leadership events to support this initiative. Offered eight scholarships to rising women leaders to Association events. Established new speaker incubator program to develop and ecourage rising leaders with aspirations to become presenters. - managed inclusion, diversity, equity, and advocacy interest group which offers networking opportunities, training programs, and resources to assist Staffing firms with developing dei strategies and programs within their firms. - continued partnership with the office of disability employment resources to provide best practice guidance for Staffing firms to recruit, retain, and advance people with disabilities. - managed Association volunteers to ensure that asa's standing committees carryout the Association mission and strategic priorities in advocacy, research, education, and promotion of legal, ethical, and professional practices. - maintained mentoring program for 261 pairs of mentors and mentees designed to allow members to share experiences and provide guidance to industry peers for career development. - monitored online members-only networking community, asa central, which helps connect members to peers for guidance, advice, and resources to improve their business operations. - provided guidance and support to 16 affiliated state chapters including strategic planning services, program development, and guest speakers for events.
Legal and government affairs: - fielded calls and emails from member companies regarding the legal and operational implications legislation and regulations; published comprehensive issue papers on timely legal topics; hosted webinars on same- participated in workgroup calls of national institute for occupational safety and health (niosh) services sector council and jointly promoted Staffing firm best practice document regarding temporary worker safety and wellbeing through media, webinars, and conference presentations- met monthly with the department of labor's office of disability employment policy (odep) as part of formal alliance effort to promote work opportunities to those with disabilities- met with osha alliance representative to discuss 2023 product proposals; attended annual osha alliance program - engaged in state advocacy- held successful Staffing law conference- produced legal line videos to educate members- participated in national safety council's safer campaign- participated in health action alliance regarding employee mental health
