Program areas at Anacortes Skate Park Improvement Project
Building, maintaining, and improving Anacortes Skate Parks in cooperation with the City of Anacortes lessens the burden on the Anacortes City government through the support of Parks and Recreation, reduces delinquency and builds community through Skateboarding. Skate parks are a positive outlet to instill strong values like work versus reward, determination, the importance of community, having fun, and can give many a sense of being and a healthy oulet to blow off steam which we all need. Skate parks in any community can be a gathering place and even a second home for families and people of all ages who love skateboarding and other action sports. Quality skate parks in communities serve as a place for skateboarding classes, events, community fundraisers, and a place to find a strong sense of community and friendship.
Supporting events, workshops, and classes at the Anacortes Skate Parks in cooperation with the Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Anacortes makes the world a happier place through skateboarding. This also lessens the burden on the Anacortes City Parks and Recreation Department, reduces delinquency and builds community.
