Program areas at Anderson Interfaith Ministries
Emergency assistance served to needy clients. Provides financial assistance such as heating and cooling, rent and mortgage, and clothing needs to individuals and families. Clients are provided counseling to help them develop a family budget and have an opportunity to attend budgeting class, job skills/soft skills training, and resume writing training available in our onsite training center. 2,000+ volunteer hours were completed with an estimated value of 40,000+.
Food pantry served almost 10,000 households through the hunger ministry program. We coordinated the efforts of volunteers to deliver food to 35 homebound clients each month. Through the manna food distribution program, aim partnered with local organizations to distribute food at sites in Anderson county. The manna program distributed over 40,000 lbs of food. The summer food for kids program provides food packages to children living in Anderson's subsidized housing locations. Over 3,000 children were provided food packages and 6,500+ volunteer hours were completed with a value of 120,000+.
Women and children succeeding served 175+ families through information and referral services. Many families came back into the office to apply for the program or for more information. Wacs serves an average of 25 families at any given time and up to 35 familes per year. Wacs participants complete an average of 1800 hours of community service per year, 95% in Anderson county. There were 1,700+ volunteer hours.
Tax prep service prepared 110+ income tax returns for low-income familes scacdc individual development account.
