Program areas at ASPCI
Snap - Aspci offers residents whose income is 49,000 or less, and is willing to use one of the 8 veternary clinics in Aspci's network, a certificate to have their pets altered and get them up to date on vaccinations. These clinics have agreements with Aspci to accept less than their normal fees for these services. The fees charged to clients is considerabley less than the amount paid to the veternarians, so the deficet is financed by general contributions and grants. In 2023, 1337 certificates were issued.
Pet cemetery: provides a place for pet owners to inter their deceased pet. The interment fee includes permanent upkeep of the cemetary grounds and a burial service at the gravesite when requested.
Operations - Aspci partners with another organization to transport animals from Alabama shelters to no-kill shelters in other states that do not have a pet overpopulation problem. In 2023, 1,927 animals were transported.
