Children's program - even after the covid pandemic has passed, the center continued to provide medical and vaccination services to seniors and children belong to low- income families. In addition, Community center had opened a summer camp for more than 400 children aged 8 to 14 years old. The program includes group reading, basic gardening, camping, games, and recreation. At the end of october, the center also held a halloween party for more than 500 children. In marking the end of the year and to help needy families celebrate the holidays, the center had distributed toys to more than 600 children low- income families during this time.
Community healthcare - the center provided basic health care services such as blood tests, vaccinations, flu shot, covid 19 and mammograms to the Community, especially for those without health insurance.
Food distribution/community garden - Annam is a trusted agency of the houston food bank, the largest bank distributes food nationwide in the united states. With a great host of volunteers, the center was able to maintain and even exceed food and beverage levels of previous years. In 2022, the center distributed 4,762,000 pounds of food for low-income families in the local Community. The center also saw great value in growing our own produces such as winter squash, melons, spinach, herbs and a wide variety of seasonal vegetables to supplement needed nutrients for our meal sites clients. Community gardens not only provided fresh food; it brought the Community members together for social enrichment as well as learning new gardening skills. In 2022,the center Community garden harvested nearly 30,000 pounds.
