Program areas at Apufram International
Exempt purpose accomplishment Apufram International continued to financially support Apufram's efforts to carry out their goals of providing all levels of education, housing, food, clothing, medical, psychological & dental care as well as spiritual guidance to young people and abandoned mothers in extreme poverty. All Apufram schools (4) and boarding facilities (8) were open. Ai also helped Apufram maintain five facilities housing university students. Due to generous donations from individuals, ai was able to augment the following designated funds held by Apufram: the pastoral fund and the alicia perez medical student support fund. Donors also designated contributions for the following projects: installation of a security fence around the perimeter of the la barca site as well as several upkeep/repair projects at the same facility; replacement of either wood-burning stoves or 25 year old gas stoves with new commercial stoves at six boarding facilities in honduras; replacement of old mattresses with new ones at each boarding site; upkeep and repairs at the villa san antonio site; and purchase of four new desk top computers for maximilian kolbe high school in flores. Financial support was also provided to seven priests who must travel many miles to minister to their parishioners in rural parts of honduras in addition to eight lay pastoral workers ministering in rural communities. In 2022 ai sponsored one volunteer, a trauma certified registered nurse, who utilized his experience in that field to care for students, staff, and community members at Apufram facilities in honduras. Finally, 328 students (grade school to university level) in honduras and the d.r. Were supported by individuals or groups through the ai sponsorship program.
