Aram Soba Raanana

The general purpose of the organization is to is to maintain the age-old sephardic jewry customs and traditions established in aleppo, syria, including through education, supporting religious organizations following the Aram Soba traditions and historical research. Multiple families maintaining the Aram Soba traditions have recently emigrated to the israeli city of Raanana (about 12 miles north of tel aviv). The community will need a synagogue and cultural center to maintain their ancient traditions. Otherwise, the community will disperse and assimilate to other traditions. The organization will fund the rental of space and renovation of that space for a synagogue that will be conducted solely in the Aram Soba tradition. It will also fund the long process to obtain charitable status of the synagogue in israel. This will be the sole initial activity of the organization and 100 percent of its funds and efforts will be dedicated to the project.
