Program areas at Sunshine Services
Residential Services that provides community-based residential support for adults with intellectual disabilities, including management of two large group homes and operation of smaller, two-three person homes.
Social Services that includes (1) supported employment Services to assist individuals with intellectual disabilities in obtaining/maintaining jobs in the community work force; (2) community day based program with outings designed to allow individuals with intellectual disabilities to learn about different types of jobs, explore their community, & volunteer at other non-profit entities; and (3)program to provide a wide variety of recreational opportunities to individuals with intellectual disabilities designed to be therapeutic in nature and enhance decision-making skills as well as self-esteem to increase competence & independence.
Early intervention that provides developmental therapy to children ages from birth to age 5 and training to their families on how to achieve developmental milestones through family guided, routine-based interventions.
Sunshine industries provides a variety of employment opportunities, paying at or above minimum wage, in a sheltered environment for individuals with intellectual disabilities, including contracts through gsa (general service administration) or the department of defense, and light industrial subcontract work for area businesses, involving packaging, assembly, bulk mailings, recycling, and inspection.
