Program areas at Arc of Snohomish County

Connecting Families: This program offers support and training through a variety of activities and workshops both fun and educational. Parent to Parent, Sibshops, Mothers and Fathers Networks, as well as many other opportunities are offered. Its intention is to give all members of the family the tools necessary to be a healthy happy family unit raising a loved one with a disability. All members of the family are supported including siblings. Approximate number served: 3600.
Leadership and education: The Arc identifies family members, siblings, guardians and self-advocates who are interested in or want to actively participate in a leadership role representing intellectual and developmental disabilities. Leaders receive information, training and support to effectively advocate for individuals with disabilities. Help families navigate the special education system through the IEP Parent Partner Program. The IEP Parent Partner Program is a program that trains and matches IEP Partners with parents wanting support at their childs IEP meeting. Approximate number served: 700.
Independent Living: This program offers support so individuals with disabilities can live successfully in their community. Includes future planning workshops for parents so they can plan effectively for the future. Workshops include, but are not limited to, transportation, SSI navigation, guardianship, housing, special needs trusts. This program also offers emergency assistance for clients living in the community that experience a crisis. Approximate number served:500.
