Architecture Foundation of Oregon supports Oregon's quality of life and creates awareness of our designed environments through education, engagement, and inspiration. More than 100 design professionals partner with teachers in over 170 classrooms across the state to provide six-week residencies for 5,400 third through fifth graders. Architect-teacher teams work together to develop customized curriculum from AFO's guide. The Hart Scholarship awards one $5,000 scholarship annually to a b.arch student entering their last year at the University of Oregon or Portland State University.

Program areas at Architecture Foundation of Oregon

Architects in school: over 100 design professionals partner with teachers in over 170 Oregon classrooms to provide six week residencies for 5,400 third through fifth graders. Architect/teacher teams develop customized curriculum from afo's guide connecting the study of Architecture with learning goals in math, science, social studies, art, and other subject areas. Exhibits of the students work were organized in the five metro areas served. Relationships with design professionals and teachers were expanded in service areas across the state.
Hart scholarship: one $5,000 scholarship awarded to a bipoc Architecture (b.arch). Student entering their last year at university of Oregon or portlandstate university.tsagaglalal scholarships: $18,000 in scholarships awarded to students pursuing a degree in art or Architecture at portland state univeristy.pcc scholarship: one $5,000 scholarship awarded to a first generation student enrolled in pcc architectural design and drafting or interior design degree program.hatfield scholarship: one $5,000 scholarship awarded to an Architecture student attending university of Oregon or portland state university committed to community service.
Van evera bailey fellowship:two $25,000 fellowships were awarded to a mid-career professionals. One fellow team of two individuals used the funds to research and produce a monument plan for historic black portland's albina community. The other fellow used the funds to research and document a vision for alleyway housing throughout the city of portland.
