The Area Housing Authority is an independent, non-profit agency serving the residents of Camarillo, Fillmore, Moorpark, Ojai, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks and the unincorporated areas of Ventura County. The AHA shall be a leader providing opportunities and assistance to people in need of affordable housing through development, acquisitions, and partnerships. The Area Housing Authority is governed by a 15-member Board of Commissioners. Each jurisdiction appoints two Commissioners to serve a 4-year term. In addition, one Resident Commissioner is appointed “at-large”.

Section 8 program: the Housing Authority subsidized rents for 2,314 families, persons with disabilities, and seniors.
the Housing Authority operates 232 tax credit units for families. Additionally, we are able to assist another 189 families and seniors through complexes and houses we own.
Low rent public Housing: the Housing Authority currently provides Housing for 351 low income families, persons with disabilities, and seniors.
