Residential Services - The Agency provided residential services for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities within Fairfield County, Connecticut. 24 individuals received 24/7 support within four CLA's (group homes). The Agency maintains clean, safe, and personalized homes throughout the community. 16 individuals live in their own apartments and receive the number of hours per week of support necessary based on their level of need. This can be as few as 5 to as many as 30 hours per week. Individuals receive support in all areas of daily living, and have measurable goals based on their greatest needs and interests. These goals are established to help each person be as independent and self-sufficient as possible as well as to provide opportunities for social/recreational activities to ensure a good quality of life, so they can live in the least restrictive setting possible.
Vocational Services - The Agency provided pre-vocational training, job development and placement, and on-the-job training and support for 31 individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Individuals served in the vocational services program all earn wages based on their ability to perform certain tasks and Department of Labor regulations. They may work independently or in a small group.
Day Service Option Program - The Agency provided 49 individuals with programs and activities to learn new skills, maintain existing skills, socialize, recreate, and volunteer in the local community in a variety of settings. This program is designed to maximize an individual's ability to live as independently and self-sufficiently as possible. Training is focused on self-care, health & safety, socialization, communication, physical and emotional maturation, cognitive, leisure, and pre-vocational skills. Services are provided to develop valued, non-work related adult roles in the community and are based on individual choice and preference.
